Wool Carpet + Big Dog? Absolutely

brutus on the karastan rug

The rug Brutus the Bull Mastiff is standing on is a Karastan woven wool custom piece that retails for well over $23 per square foot. Why am I allowing him on such a pricey piece of textile art?
Because wool is incredibly durable, abrasion-resistant, and beautiful.

Now, it must be understood that this is a cut-pile piece with no loops. Had there been loops in the pattern, Brutus the Magnificent would have made a bit of a mess as he plays. But as it is, he can have all the fun he wants on it (including the occasional accident… he is a puppy after all) and I don’t worry about it.

If you have questions regarding pets and designer carpet/rugs, don’t hesitate to send an email and I’ll get right back with you.

All the best,
